Our Story
Watching too many HGTV shows or just missing the country backroads I lived on as a child… I purchased a 10-acre farm, sight unseen along the Carolina Highways. Excited with all the possibilities of having my own fixer-upper and acres of green pastures with donkeys, horses and ducks… oh my! I forgot I didn’t know a soul in the new beautiful area of Denton, NC.
The house - well let’s just say it needed some work! But with tons of vison and lots of screenshots from farmhouse magazines and Better Homes and Garden, I was ready to tackle my biggest project yet. Then I realized I had no idea what companies to call!
I started noticing businesses all along the highways, nestled along rows of beautiful trees! I found my kitchen counter tops maker and install company, my gravel rock for my driveway, a place to rent farm equipment (really needed a tractor for 10 acres of grass), a homebuilder, cakemaker, doggie daycare, pest control, car repair, etc.
Over the next year we successfully remodeled the property with the help of the amazing local business along HWY 109, 49, 64 and more.
This experience has inspired me to bring a magazine full of wonderful local businesses for your home remodel, decorating and/or upgrading. Along with some hidden finds to make life easier! Our goal at Carolinas Highways Magazine is to build community awareness & partnerships with local business owners and establish the magazine as a trusted resource guide to local homeowners new and old.
